Switzerland's Pius Schwizer – a former world number one – and the 10-year-old Christina (Cassirado x Cormint) took the top honours in Saturday afternoon's CSI5*-W 1.45m Prix GSF at Jumping International de Bordeaux 2023.
With a time of 62.68 seconds, Schwizer and Christina bested a field of 27 horse-and-rider-combinations, leaving Ireland's Richard Howley and the 14-year-old Mansini Ltd (Caressini L x Marramas) to the runner-up position when the clock stopped on 63.19 for the Irish rider. Germany's Michael Jung and the 15-year-old Fischerchelsea (Check In x Argent) took the third place with a time of 63.73, while the host nation's Penelope Leprevost and Candy d'Elle (Conrad x J'ai l'Espoir d'Elle) finished fourth in 64.58, followed by Dutch rider Harrie Smolders in fifth aboard Escape Z (Emerald x Heartbreaker) in 65.15.
