Two female riders took the biggest wins at this weekend's CSI4*-W show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as Manon Hees won Friday's FEI Jumping World Cup™ and Edwina Tops-Alexander Saturday's Grand Prix.
Manon Hees (NED) took the victory with the 9-year-old mare Echo vh Gerendal Z (Echo van't Spieveld x Jodokus), delivering one of only two double clear rounds in this 1.55m FEI Jumping World Cup™ that had a total of 23 horse-and-rider combinations in it. The runner-up position went to Hani Kamal Raji Bsharat (JOR) on Chatinue (Chacco-Blue x Continue), who was 1.52 seconds behind the winning time, while Mouda Zeyada (EGY) placed third with Katia (Emerald x Lancelot), with four faults from round one.
After placing fourth in Friday's World Cup, Edwina Tops-Alexander (AUS) stepped to the top of the podium in Saturday's 1.55m Grand Prix after jumping the only clear on the 9-year-old mare Hazy Toulana (Toulon x Indorado). With four faults, Mouda Zeyada placed second aboard Galanthos Shk (Arthos R x Cantos), while third place went to Khaled Abdulrahman Almobty (KSA) on Garizona (Otangelo x Labor's VDL Indorado) – also he on four faults in this class that counted 18 horse-and-rider combinations.
