Edited press release from Cavaliada Krakow
Germany’s Harm Lahde and Oak Grove's Commander Bond (Comme Il Faut 5 x Lux Z) won the CSI4*-W 1.55m PKO Bank Polski Grand Prix of CAVALIADA Kraków in Poland, and thus the entire CAVALIADA Tour 2024/2025.
The PKO Bank Polski Grand Prix, for the PKO Bank Polski Prize under the patronage of the Mayor of the City of Kraków was the Central European League Final of the FEI Jumping World Cup™ Central European League - Southern Sub-League. Sunday's competition gathered 38 horse-and-rider combinations on the starting list, and the course designer, Gérard Lachat from Switzerland, did not set an easy task for the riders.
In the end, five pairs qualified for the jump-off, where Lahde and Oak Grove's Commander Bond galloped to victory. "There were only five of us in the jump-off and I wanted to be as fast as possible, but there was no clears before me so I had to keep the poles up," the winner said. "It was a bit of a calculation of how fast I could go but not have a fence down. I was worried about Amanda's ride because she is always very fast, especially with this horse, but today we managed to win. I'm definitely going to miss CAVALIADA, for us it is not an ordinary competition. We really enjoy coming
to each of the locations because it's always fantastic. Everything is top-notch here - the ground, the course designers, the prize pool, the fans - I could go on for another ten minutes about it."
As the last to go, Amanda Slagter (NED) with Cornet Blue PS (Chacco-Blue x Cornet's Stern) finished in second place and the top three was rounded up by the Czech Republic's Ales Opatrny aboard Kapsones W (Cornet Obolensky x Carambole).
