Switzerland’s own Barbara Schnieper and the 16-year-old mare Judy KM (Joly St. Hubert x Saphir von der Rossi) took a home win in Friday’s CSI5*-W 1.45m Prize of Thermoplan at the 2026-edition of the Longines CHI Classics Basel.
“I made up time between jumps three and four,” Schnieper explained in a press release from Longines CHI Classics Basel. “Judy was almost a little too fast in that turn. I am very happy to be able to celebrate this win here in front of my home crowd.”
With a time of 61.78, Schnieper and Judy KM bested a field of 53 horse-and-rider combinations, taking the win ahead of Marc Dilasser (FRA) and Chamann Has (Mylord Carthago x Socrate de Chivre) in second in 62.97. Eiken Sato (JPN) on Milva RB (Million Dollar x Lasino) rounded out the top three when crossing the finish line in 63.17, while Hans-Dieter Dreher (GER) on Harley de la Cense (Andiamo Semilly x Calvaro F.C.) finished fourth with a time of 63.43, followed by Pia Reich (GER) aboard PB Corrada (Connor x Diarado) in fifth in 63.86.
