Switzerland’s Steve Guerdat and the 13-year-old mare Is-Minka (Mylord Carthago x Flyinge Quite Easy) won Saturday’s CSI5*-W 1.55m Championat der Stadt Leipzig at the 2026-edition of Partner Pferd Leipzig in Germany.
In a jump-off of sixteen, Guerdat and Is-Minka clocked the winning time of 36.13 seconds, taking the win ahead of the host nation’s Gerrit Nieberg and IB Queen (Quasimodo Z x Whistler) who had to settle for the runner-up spot in 38.58.
“I did not have such high expectations,” Guerdat shared in the press conference, explaining his approach for the deciding jump-off. “We have done many jump-offs together and won a lot, but due to my recent health issues, Is-Minka didn't show much last year. In Mechelen, she jumped a few small classes and last week in Basel, once a 1.50m – which she won – but still, I felt that I would not put pressure on today. I am so happy with Is-Minka, she could not have been better – and that it was enough for the win, is a nice bonus.”
Rik Hemeryck (BEL) and Navarro van het Eelshof (Jappelloup vh Dauwhof x Poleander) completed the top three when crossing the beam in 39.62, followed by Simon Delestre (FRA) on Golden Boy DK (Diamant de Semilly x Cash) in fourth in 40.14 and Jur Vrieling (NED) aboard Iron Wish RW (Iron Man van de Padenborre x Lux Z) in fifth in 40.23.
