Great Britain's Jack Whitaker and the 12-year-old Scenletha (Hunter's Scendix x Contendra I) opened the weekend at CSI5*-W Kingsland Oslo Horse Show – in the Norwegian capital – with a win in Friday's 1.50m competition against the clock presented by OBAS.
With a time of 60.05, Whitaker topped a starter field of 45 horse-and-rider combinations, taking the top honours ahead of Germany's Daniel Deusser on Kiana van het Herdershof (Toulon x Lys De Darmen) in second. The young Brits were on fire on Friday, with Lily Attwood (GBR) on Karibou Horta (Landor S x For Pleasure) placing third ahead of Henrik von Eckermann (SWE) – the current world number one – on Hollywood V (Mylord Carthago x Casall) in fourth, and his compatriot Jens Fredricson on his world championship mount Markan Cosmopolit (Cohiba 1198 x Calido I) in fifth.
