For the organizing committee of Gothenburg Horse Show and the Swedish Equestrian Federation, safety when handling horses at shows is of the essence.
One way of highlighting this was to encourage the grooms of international riders at the show to wear a riding helmet and proper boots during the presentation of the horse at the Horse Inspection.
Since 2015, this is mandatory in Swedish national shows.
24 horses were presented with proper safety equipement on the groom. The deciding factor was the overall presentation.
The new award goes to Kay Neatham, groom to horses of Marcus Ehning, Germany and she is awarded with a pair of Ariat boots.
