The action continued in Gothenburg, Sweden, on Friday evening with a CSI5* 1.45m competition in two phases presented by HÖÖKS. The ever so enthusiastic crowds in Scandinavium got a real treat when the top two placings went to their home heroes Malin Baryard-Johnsson (SWE) and Peder Fredricson (SWE).
Riding the 10-year-old gelding H&M Carat Desire (Carinjo x Latus II), current European Champion Fredricson took over the lead early on in the class of 40 starters, when he crossed the finish line in 23,19 seconds after a daring round. But with the 10-year-old mare H&M Second Chance (Carland x White Clover), Malin Baryard-Johnsson managed to be quicker around the turns, clocking the winning time of 22,56 seconds.
Steve Guerdat (SUI) on the 12-year-old mare Albfuehren's Happiness (Heartbeat x Lambrusco Ask) took the third spot with a time of 23,75 seconds, while Michael Jung (GER) on the 10-year-old mare fischerChelsea (Check In x Argent) placed fourth with a time of 23,85 seconds. The fifth spot went to Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) on the 9-year-old gelding Einstein (Clinton x Nimmerdor), after the pair clocked a time of 24,21 seconds.
