This weekend, the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Western European League continues in Helsinki, Finland, with its second qualifier of the 2024/2025-season.
The five-star action got underway on Friday, with Germany's Philipp Schulze Topphoff and the 11-year-old mare Carla NRW (Comme Il Faut x Postdam NRW) topping the feature class of the day, the CSI5*-W 1.50m presented by Pohjola – a competition counting for the Longines Rankings Group D.
With a time of 55.58 seconds, Schulze Topphoff and Carla NRW were the fastest of the 41 horse-and-rider combinations at start, followed by the current world number two, Switzerland's Steve Guerdat and Easy Star de Talma (Quick Star x Opium de Talma) in second in 55.61.
Mario Stevens (GER) and Starissa FRH (Stakkato Gold x Quidam's Rubin) took third place after clocking a time of 56.21 seconds, while Hans-Dieter Dreher (GER) and Vestmalle des Cotis (Baloubet du Rouet x Landor S) finished fourth in 56.91. Angelica Augustsson-Zanotelli (SWE) and Kalinka van de Nachtegaele (Epleaser van'T Heike x Cicero Z) completed the top five with a time of 57.03.
