Edited press release from Cavaliada Poznan
Pim Mulder (NED) and Viktor Z (Verdi TN x Caretano, breeder F. Hoogenboom) won Friday's CSI4*-W 1.50m Prize of the National Support Centre for Agriculture, under the patronage of Śliwocki Home – counting for the Longines Ranking – at the Cavaliada Tour in Poznan, Poland.
Out of the 67 starters in the class, only eleven made it to the jump-off. Seven horse-and-rider combinations repeated their clears in the jump-off, and fastest of them all were Mulder and Viktor Z – crossing the finish line in 36.90 seconds. Emma Emanuelsson (SWE) and Canbella Blue PS (Cantolar x Chacco-Blue, breeder Gestüt Lewitz) were first to go in the jump-off and even though the Swedish rider delivered a really fast round, she had to settle for the runner-up position when Mulder was 0.56 seconds ahead
“The most important thing for me was to stay calm. My horse is quick and sometimes a touch nervous, so if I override him, he goes too quick. I need to stay calm and then he can do his job,” said the winner. “I thought it was a difficult course, and then the first six or seven riders had very good rounds, so I thought – oh, we’ll get many clears – but at the end it was difficult enough. I like the show a lot, I didn’t know it so well, but last year I really wanted to come. At the end, I entered and I liked it so much that I thought I have to come back for sure!”
The third place went to Omer Karaevli (TUR) and Avant Toi (Flyinge Quite Easy x Narcos II) with the time of 62.54 seconds, followed by Sara Vingralkova (CZE) and How Easy (Talan x Flyinge Quite Easy) in fourth in 37.95 seconds, while Roelof Bril (NED) and Iberico (Contendro I x Otangelo) finished fifth in 40.25 seconds.
