CSI4*-W Al Rayyan 2017

It was a Ukrainian victory in Saturday's FEI World Cup at the CSI4*-W event in Al Rayyan, with Rene Tebbel on top riding the 10-year-old stallion Cosun (Up to Date x Cavalier).

Only twelve riders participated in the World Cup competition, and out of these two pairs remained clear throughout the class over the two rounds of jumping. Against the clock, Tebbel was the fastest stopping the clock at 48.18 seconds leaving Edwina Tops-Alexander (AUS) behind him with her time of 51.81 on the 9-year-old Inca Boy van't Vianahof (Diamant de Semilly x Cash). Alexandra Thornton (GBR) finished third on her new ride Cornetto K (Cornet Obolensky x Calido) with only a time penalty in round two. Alf Al Khorfai (FEI) ended fourth, and Derin Demirsoy (TUR) fifth.

Earlier in the day, Demirsoy topped the 1.45m Longines Ranking small Grand Prix aboard Dadjak Ter Puttenen (Toulon x Vanitas). Edwina Tops-Alexander finished second, and Athina Onassis (GRE) third.
