Sunday’s CSI4*-W 1.55m FEI Jumping World Cup™ Grand Prix presented by Longines in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, went to Ireland’s Trevor Breen and the 11-year-old mare Luidam’s Warrior (Luidam Elite x Warrior).
With a time of 43.36 seconds in the second round, the Irish rider bested a field of 33 horse-and-rider combinations, taking the win with the only double clear in the competition counting for Longines Rankings Group B. The hosts’ Omar Abdul Aziz Al Marzooqi (UAE) and Enjoy de la Mure (Vigo Cece x Sable Rose) followed in second with four faults in 40.42, while four penalties in 42.23 saw Sophie Hinners (GER) and Nuraya 3 (Nurjev x Bisons Golden Joy) finish third ahead of William Funnell (GBR) and Equine America Billy Picador (Billy Mexico x Animo) in fourth and Lea Rucker (CAN) aboard Macarena 42 (Monte Bellini x Saccor) in fifth.
