Willem Greve and the 13-year-old stallion Grandorado TN N.O.P. (Eldorado vd Zeshoek x Carolus, bred by M. Rietberg & D.J. Verhoeven) took a popular home win in Sunday morning's CSI5*-W 1.50m Harry Wouters van den Oudenweijer Prize at the 2024-edition of Jumping Amsterdam.
With a time of 34.00 seconds in a jump-off between seven horse-and-rider-combinations, Greve took the win ahead of Olivier Philippaerts (BEL) and Precious Dwerse Hagen (Cornet Obolensky x Casall, bred by De Dwerse Hagen BVBA) in second in 34.37.
"I am very happy with the way he jumped, after a break due to an injury," Greve told World of Showjumping after his victory at RAI Amsterdam. "This is his third international show back and his first big class. I am happy to win, but even more happy with the way he jumped. We will try to make the best possible plan for him going forward and I hope for him, Highway and Pretty Woman to have a good summer."
Frank Schuttert (NED) and Gream (Verdi TN x Ultimo, bred by A.P. van Dijck) placed third, while Harry Charles (GBR) and Chawton (Typhoon S x Caletto II, bred by Olga White) finished fourth, followed by Michael Duffy (IRL) aboard Claptonn Mouche (Conrad x Elan de la Cour, bred by GAEC Mouche) in fifth – all three riders with a rail down.
