FEI World Breeding Jumping Championships 2016
We round off our coverage from the FEI World Breeding Jumping Championships in Lanaken with the highlights from the final for the 7-year-old-horses. All photos (c) Jenny Abrahamsson.
Silver medalists Lorenzo de Luca and Jeelena de Muze (Tornedo FCS x Chin Chin) together with her breeder and groom. Jeelena de Muze is out of Maikel van der Vleuten’s international winner VDL Groep Eureka.
Here the team around bronze medalists Luc Steeghs and Everest, a horse by Willem Greve's success stallion Carambole.
It was a dificult final for the 7-year-olds. Francis Connors got five faults with Primo Troy (Clinton x VDL Arkansas) in the first round, but it was still good enough for the 11th place.
David McPherson rode the stallion Sirocco (Balou du Rouet x Guidam) to an 8th place.
Both Eduardo Damiani Filizola and Jella van't Kathof (Eldorado Van De Zeshoek x Calvados) looked disapointed over their six faults when crossing the finish line. They were still placed though.
Damien Haelterman and the well jumping Jarcobond van den Oude Eik, a horse by Penelope Leprevost's top stallion Vagabond de la Pomme, took the 10th place.
Constant van Paesschen rode the Diamant de Semilly x For Pleasure son Veneur D Isigny in the final.
Stephex Stables had no less than three riders and six horses in the final with Petronella Andersson ending 6th with Jana van d'Abdijhoeve (Baloubet Du Rouet x Heartbreaker)....
... Jonna Ekberg ending 5th riding Jasmien v. Bisschop (Larino x Chin Chin)...
... and Lorenzo de Luca taking silver with Jeleena de Muze (Tornedo FCS x Chin Chin).
Lennard de Boer with VDL Edgar M (Arezzo VDL x Marlon) in action.
Luc Steeghs with Everest (Carambole x Indoctro).
Jan Motmans had the fastest time in the jump-off with Jaguar (Chopin Van Het Moleneind x Cicero Z), but with four faults he had to settle for the fourth place.
The winners! The amazing Think Twice 111 Z is a half sister to Luciana Diniz’s success horse Winningmood. The two share the same mother – Unellie 15 – and come from the same breeder – Harrie Theeuwes who runs Stud 111 in Belgium.
