The victory in the second qualification for the six-year-old horses at the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship for Young Horses 2024 in Lanaken, Belgium, went to Seppe Wouters (BEL) and the Zangersheide-mare Libelle Asborne Z (Lector vd Bisschop x Calvaro Z, bred by Bvba Asborne).
Niamh McEvoy (IRL) clocked the second best time in the 1.35m class with the Irish bred mare Boleybawn Alvaro (Dominator Z x Crown Z, bred by Ronan Rothwell), while Maikel van Mierlo (NED) took the third place with the Zangersheide-gelding Hilton de la Vie (Halifax van het Kluizebos x Darco, bred by Haras de la Vie). Alexander Housen (BEL) and Kazandor Hero Z (Kassander va't Roosakker x Zandor Z, bred by Luc Henry) finished fourth and Mario Maintz (GER) aboard Pur U Z (Diamant de Semilly x Aktion Pur Z, bred by Alena and Hanna Unterberg) fifth.
In the second qualifier for the 7-year-old horses, 192 horse-and-rider combinations competed in a 1.40m class against the clock, with 60 pairs finishing on a clean sheet. The Oldenburger-mare Diarona PS (Diaron x Charity, bred by Gestüt Lewitz) ridden by Ruben Arroyave (COL) took the top honours, followed by Katrin Eckermann (GER) and Viva Fly NRW (Vivant x Starpower, bred by Otmar Eckermann) in second and Leonie Böckmann (GER) aboard Flo Jo 4 (Fire and Ice J x Lordanos, bred by Böckmann Pferde GmbH) in third.
For the 5-year-old horses, 88 pairs from the 228 at start jumped clear in the second qualifier over a 1.25m course.
