Daniel Deusser’s show groom Sean Lynch is back guest blogging, and here he sums up his week at the Longines FEI World Cup Final in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Wow!

What a weekend – stress, not enough sleep and enough coffee to make my own Starbucks shop, and enough junk food to have a heart attack.

And there was me thinking vitamin water is good for me! The one called awake lied! It does not make you feel awake at 5.40am.

The ponies were literally amazing this week, many clear rounds, many ribbons, happy ponies, happy Sean!

And of course, the last day was saved by the most amazing pony known to mankind. Tobago Z, what a hero that horse is!

Going into Sunday’s final on 6 points in 10th place to jumping one of three double clears to finish 4th one point behind the podium, but I couldn’t ask for more – and Double D also incredible!

Now I sit here in the airport in Gothenburg finding the last cinnamon bun before taking the flight to Mexico to meet the other horses. And wondering if I actually packed everything? Luckily, I have Terri with me for the next 16 hours to keep me entertained. I’m guessing I will be her pillow for the next few hours! Let’s just hope I don’t lose her! Although she is already in the Mexican spirit with a very large hat on. God help us.

And of course, a massive congrats to the podium winners:

Emma!
Sean!
Malin!

You guys rocked!

Now to find another coffee! I will miss you Sweden with your cinnamon buns and your very close McDonalds.

Until next time,

Sean
