Hi everyone,
Nations Cup Final-week in Barcelona brings the best teams to battle it out in the to become champions... This week we have of course my favourite little big man First Class (causing a little trouble of course), and Geisha - a horse from Daniel's client Wesley Newlands - meaning Wesley's groom is also here so only First Class for me this week! Expect some blogs everyday:-)
After arriving home late Monday morning from Vienna, it was unpack, repack and leave again Monday night to Lyon where we arrived 9.30am and then we left there around 4 pm giving the horses a little break, hand walk and some grass and of course we found a cheeky Mc Donalds.
Arriving in Barcelona around midnight, perfect! No one was around, or at least I thought... Team Germany - Kay, Caro - were already setting up, still working away putting the final touches to the stables. Around one hour after me the whirl wind that is Marie arrived, so the Germans were all settled....
After arriving in my bed at 3am, alarm set for 7am, a double black coffee to start the day was very much needed. Black coffee makes us tired grooms very happy.... A little stretch of the legs for First Class and Geisha who both seem pretty fresh (at least they do, because we don't:-))
Today is just a warm-up day, so no real stress yet. I took advantage of the spare time, stole Christelle's Segway seeing as she was trying to clip a horse in the dark and bombed up the high street for Starbucks (also another thing that makes me happy). Easily pleased I guess... Getting some very strange looks from the people walking the high street as I whip in and out of them with the Segway and bags of coffee! Don't worry everyone, just a caramel macchiato to start the day!
Vet check done and we are ready for action!
Sean
