The 2021-edition of the Deutsches Spring- und Dressur Derby in Hamburg has been moved to 25-29 of August. In 2020, the event was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic and this year’s move from the show’s traditional dates around the Ascension Day is done to give spectators, riders and the organisers more certainty in the planning.

The organisers have announced that all five days of the show are scheduled to follow the original course of events. The Longines Global Champions Tour and GCL also support the move and will once again present a stage of their prestigious five-star series in Hamburg. The Derby classes will return with the qualifications, and the prestigious Deutsches Spring-Derby, presented by IDEE KAFFEE. The Mercedes-Benz Championat of Hamburg has also become one of the traditions at the event.

“A show such as the Deutsches Spring- und Dressur-Derby is unimaginable without the spectators. Frankly, it is also not financially viable,” Volker Wulff stated in a press release on behalf of the organisers. "We feel obligated to do everything possible to deliver the Derby 2021, we owe it to our sponsors and spectators, who have shown great loyalty with the Hamburg show in this time of crisis.”
