Great Britain's Ben Maher has been forced to take a break after a bad fall, the reigning Olympic Champion and current world number six announced on social media today. Since the beginning of January, Maher has been competing in Wellington, Florida, where he won the CSI4* 1.55m Grand Prix with Dallas Vegas Batilly only two weeks ago.

On his official Instagram account, Maher wrote: "Due to a bad fall last week, I will be taking an unscheduled holiday. I appreciate all of the kind messages. I will keep you updated along the recovery and hope to be back soon!"

At World of Showjumping, we wish Ben a smooth and quick recovery!
