The Van De Lageweg-family (VDL Stud), Jan Broek and Egbert Schep have prepared the 17th edition of the De Wolden Summer Sale; a collection of very genetically interesting jumping foals. These 21 foals all fit the strict criteria with a good conformation, expressive movement and interesting pedigree. On Saturday 20th July, during CSI2* Zuidwolde the auction will take place live and online. 

De Wolden Summer Sale has built a strong reputation over the years for providing successful jumpers and foals. This year we have focussed on foals, with 21 talents selected, they are from stallions such as Bacardi VDL, Hardrock Z, Aganix du Seigneur, Baltic VDL and Zirocco Blue VDL. The collection contains foals with plenty of sport in the dam lines, big canters and great types.

I must give Wiebe-Yde a big compliment in finding foals, and convincing breeders to put them in our auction; including the ones they believe in the most and wanted to keep for themselves," Jan Broek said enthusiastically.

“We always aim for the best in our auction and this has already resulted in a large number of horses competing internationally and a number of approved stallions. This year we have put our focus on foals and with the quality we have we expect it to be a great success again. Last year we sold horses to America, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico just to name a few. With the quality we deliver we have been able to develop a good name for ourselves and I think with this collection we belong to one of the best auctions in the Netherlands."

A number of the dams from this years foals have competed at 1.40m level or higher, such as the Sambucci de Muze-filly Urban Dance, who’s dam jumped 1.40m and is sister to no less than six international jumpers. Just to mention one this dam, Jive is the full sister the 1.60m jumping approved stallion Investment from Jeroen Dubbeldam. Utopia, the filly and daughter from El Salvador, is a granddaughter to Grand Prix winner and former Dutch Champion from 2003 Think Twice II, who competed under Leopold van Asten. Another interesting filly is the Chaccothago Blue PS offspring Uhelena. Her pedigree goes back to the European Championship mare Helena and in turn to successful horses such as Southwind VDL, Celena VDL, Anderson VDL and Goldcoast VDL. The Baltic filly Uriena T is out of a half sister to four international competitors, including 1.50/1.60m jumping Luxina and Lyandro MDB. Comthago, the silver medallist at the Dutch Championships under Hessel Hoekstra presents us with Ultimate VL, an interesting colt. His dam has already produced the 1.45m competitor Eclips. Furthermore this collection contains relatives from top horses such as; Hello Senator, Dutch Cinda Alda Z, Edgar, Diarindo Z, Calvin van het Wuitenshof, Jelte DD and Desteny.

The foals will be presented at 17.30 in the main ring and the auction will start at 19.30!
