Just World

JustWorld International welcomes Ashford Farm as one of their new partners. To mark the beginning of this new partnership, Ashford Farm will sponsor the nurse's salary at JustWorld's Cambodian partner, People Improvement Organization (PIO), for an entire year.
JustWorld has supported PIO, located in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, since 2004. The organization offers services such as an official school curriculum for Kindergarten to Sixth grade students, a nutrition program, health and hygiene care, arts and drawing, as well as vocational training.
In addition to the services provided, PIO also offers medical care through their clinic. The PIO clinic serves a total of 1,000 students with 20-30 visits per day. Once the nurse sees the child, they are then provided with basic treatments or referred to a hospital for more serious issues.
Support from Ashford Farm will continue to allow the students at PIO to receive this important medical care. Without PIO and the school nurse, these students have no other resources for medical attention; their families cannot afford to send them to a doctor or hospital.
Ashford Farm, located in northern Belgium, is one of Europe's most successful trading stables. Under the guidance of Irish-born managing director, Enda Carroll, Ashford Farm offers world-class facilities for horses and riders.
The discussion about a partnership between JustWorld and Ashford Farm began last year at the CSI*** Liege in Belgium where JustWorld Ambassador Laura Mathy ran events to raise funds and awareness for the organization. Carroll was the winning bidder of a pony (now known as Nidge) auctioned off to benefit JustWorld, and talk amongst the team began about supporting the non-profit. "We at Ashford Farm believe in development and growth on every level, and over the years we have all witnessed how much JustWorld has grown" states Carroll, who encourages everyone to get involved. "Each and every person should think about supporting JustWorld in any way they can. They are an outstanding organization. From the outside looking in, it is very apparent the volume of work done and differences in lives they have made already. They are continuing to grow and develop, helping more individuals, and without support from people like us, none of this is possible. So I urge people in our sport to give back, however big or small; it will make a huge difference in these peoples' lives."

Ashford Farm

Not only is Ashford Farm partnering with JustWorld, but all of Ashford Farm's riders and owners will become Ambassadors for the organization.
Ashford Farm's International show jumping riders; Pieter Clemens from Belgium, Angelica Augustsson from Sweden and Marlon Zanotelli from Brazil, are all solidly behind the non-profit and have already become Ambassadors. Each rider promises to donate a portion their prize money JustWorld and help raise awareness of the cause to everyone in their surroundings. When asked about his reasons for becoming a JustWorld Ambassador, Clemens responded, "I want to be a part of people who want to help people with limited [opportunities]. I think especially children should have the same chances and JustWorld is helping with that."
In addition to Clemens, his team members Augustsson and Zanotelli have also realized the difference they can make by becoming JustWorld Ambassadors. "I [have] realized how much a small thing can mean so much for other people. If there is anything I can do for JustWorld, it's an honor for me," said Augustsson. "My family has always been involved with helping kids in Brazil, where I was born," said Zanotelli. "My grandma takes care of an orphanage and it is so nice to see how simple things can help so much. I would like to do more and JustWorld is giving me this [chance]."
Later this year Carroll plans to visit PIO in Cambodia to see how Ashford Farm's contribution has made a difference. "I am looking forward to seeing how it all works, how the development of JustWorld has helped these people so positively, to experience a new culture and basically, see how Ashford Farm's support is helping less privileged people."
