On the 3rd of December bidding opens for the very first edition of the BPH Auction. The catalogue comprises of top quality young horses aged 2, 3 and 4 years old from some of the most exclusive stallions on offer such as; Comme il faut, Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve, Big Star, Diarado, Untouchable and Eldorado van de Zeshoek. The collection also includes closely related youngsters to horses such as Portofino (M. Whitaker), Bintang (L. Renwick) and Hardrock Z along with a son of the exceptional mare Cruise With Me.

BPH Auction was formed by breeder and producer Danny Dunne and international showjumper James Wilson. After selling several top quality foals in prestigious European auctions in the past few years the duo decided to embark on a new and exciting project with plans for a ridden collection in the spring followed by a foal auction next summer.

“I’ve had the idea for an auction in the UK for a while now, but finding the right partner to run it with was very important” says Danny who produced and sold horses such as Darry Lou, winner of CP International GP in Spruce Meadows and his homebred For Killy, who finished 3rd in Sweden's National Championship last week. After speaking with James, who has competed on the LGCT, Nations Cups, World Cups and recently won the Grand Prix in Vilamoura, the pair decided to launch BPH Auction with their shared passion for breeding and knowledge of the sport to raise the profile of horses bred and produced in England.

Breeding has really improved in the UK in recent times, and we needed a platform in the UK in which businesses within our industry can showcase their exceptional young horses and also a place in which clients can buy and trust they are getting what they are seeing on the videos ” states James.

Despite good horses being notoriously difficult to find both Danny and James say the quality of horses has always been high in the UK. “We wanted an auction that would supply top quality horses for the sport, being able to select these horses around the country allowed us to only let the elite horses through into our auction, and I think this is what has given us an advantage in terms of not just having our own horses in the auction. We don’t want to just sell horses, we want to sell the very best horses”.

There are certainly two 4yo ridden talents that shine through in this collection, and that’s Radja Merci van de Vlasbloemhoeve (Dieu Merci x Wandor van de mispelaere) and Rebel Van de Noorheuvel (Eldorado van de Zeshoek x Dollar de la Pierre) himself a half-brother of Ava Vernon’s Individual European Gold medallist ‘Jolie Fleur’.

“In terms of the horses jumping under saddle, these two really stood out for their extraordinary way of jumping!  We would feel confident in saying that they showed everything now to allow them to progress to the highest levels of the sport, I don’t think this is the last we are going to hear from these two talents” says James.

Comme Cruising is another auction highlight, the extravagant two year old combines the athleticism, technique, and reflexes of Comme il faut with the renowned scope of the Irish legend Cruising through his mother Cruise With Me who was very successful at 1.60m level under David Simpson.

There’s no getting away from the impact that Chacco Blue is making in the world of breeding. BPH auction offers a phenomenon in the 3yo stallion out of a Chacco Blue mother. This ‘Calidos Son’ prodigy jumps with a totally flawless technique and as much scope as your ever going to need. “This stallion wow’d us all on the selection day, every jump he made was the same. The elasticity combined with power was something you don’t see in many horses, and this stallion has it in abundance” says Danny.

Bidding opens on the 3rd of December with the first lot closing on the 6th December at 19:00 GMT.
