Greg Broderick is an Olympic showjumper who also has a passion for breeding. Ballypatrick has been in the Broderick family for several generations and over the years it has been turned into a world class training and now breeding facility.

Greg Broderick is an Olympian, international showjumper, trainer, and breeder of world-class sport horses. Greg is the fifth generation of Broderick’s to reside at Ballypatrick. Greg has brought Ballypatrick from a 70 acre farm to now a 350 acre state of the art, equine facility that is home to some of the best-bred sport horses in the world.

Greg’s list of achievements in competition, training and breeding is recognised worldwide. Over the last number of years, we have seen many horses produced from a young age in Ballypatrick and move up to top international level.

The most famous being Mhs Going Global who was at Broderick’s stable from 5-years-old and stayed there until after the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Subsequently, the gelding was sold to Athina Onassis where he carried on his successful career at top level.

Going Global’s sister Pembrook Lady is the dam of Cian O’Connor’s Olympic mount Kilkenny and we see some very nice progeny from this very successful dam line in the auction.

A really attractive 6-year-old in the auction is the Irish Breeders Classic champion and winner from the Sunshine Tour in Spain Calmando Blue. The very attractive son of Calmando x Chacco Blue was also a finalist at this year’s world breeding championships in Lanaken. He looks like a top Grand Prix horse in the making and has beautiful rideability, a trademark of Ballypatrick’ s production.

A 5-year-old that stands out is the much talked about BP Tiny Dancer (Plot Blue x Concorde). She was a winner in the Simmonscourt in Dublin before becoming reserve champion in the main arena there. She was also, a finalist at the world championships this year in Lanaken. Her dam Uptown Girl was a prolific winner with Daniel Coyle and this mare is certainly following in her mother’s footsteps.

In the 4-year-old section the son of Million Dollar called BP Millionaire looks a very flashy type with a very modern canter.

When you look through the 3-year-olds and foals, we see most by the world’s top sires but most importantly the majority of the dams have international performance or international lineage.

This is a very exciting auction to happen in Ireland.

It offers a unique opportunity to purchase top performing bloodlines. Weather it’s a foal, young horse or a more experienced animal you are looking for, the online auction at www.ballypatrickauctions.com is where you need to place your bid on the 28th of December 2022.
