Taking place on Friday 4th July, during Bolesworth International presented by Al Shira’aa, the Elite Auction & Gala Night returns to the stunning setting of Bolesworth Castle. A headline moment on the equestrian calendar — where world-class bloodlines, fine dining, and top-tier connections collide.
Now in its 12th year, the Bolesworth Elite Auction has earned a sterling reputation for unearthing future stars. Previous graduates of the sale have gone on to dominate age-class competitions and enter the upper echelons of international rankings across the UK and Europe. FanFan de Beaufour achieved 4th in last year’s Hickstead Derby, whilst Kingfisher is successfully being campaigned at 1.50m level with Hannah Bate, and finished 2nd at last year’s Puissance at HOYS. Midnight, another very talented 8yo, is turning heads in ranking classes with Jay Halim.
Featuring the world’s leading sires & blacktype dams
This year’s catalogue features a meticulously curated selection of foals and 2024-born yearlings, each chosen for exceptional bloodlines and athletic potential. Sires featuring in this year’s collection including Olympic performers United Touch S and Ermitage Kalone, and established industry leaders Chacco-Blue, Balou du Reventon, as well as Diamant de Semilly. Every horse has been carefully selected by our expert panel, with a focus on dams performing at 1.60m level or closely related to 1.60m performers, including the direct daughter of Yuri Mansur’s Babylotte, the full brother to Carrera VDL, and the maternal brother to H5 Quintol.
Our 2025 auction extends beyond sport horses to include racehorse share opportunities in partnership with Michael Owen, to be trained by Hugo Palmer at Manor House Stables. This unique gateway to thoroughbred ownership allows buyers to share ownership with football legend Michael Owen, and experience year round hospitality as part of the ownership package at Manor House Stables. 10% shares are available for both lots.
New for 2025: Young horse wild cards
Adding a dash of unpredictability, three wild card lots will be drawn from the Young Horse classes during the opening week, having been drawn up into a shortlist based on their prior record and performance. These surprise entries inject real-time anticipation into the auction, offering viewers and bidders alike the chance to snap up an unlisted talent discovered in the show ring. These horses will be vetted onsite, with a full set of x rays available and will be available to try at Bolesworth between Tuesday 1st and Friday 4th July.
One of the standouts of the evening is Lot 20, a filly by Chacco-Blue out of Yuri Mansur’s legendary 1.60 m mare Babylotte. With a résumé that includes King George V Cup victories and Nations Cup glory under Mansur, Babylotte’s progeny inherit world-class scope and temperament. This filly is a sculpted model of athleticism, blending Chacco-Blue’s proven sire power – six consecutive years as WBFSH’s leading jumper sire – with Babylotte’s lineage that boasts Plot Blue and Oklund as maternal uncles. She represents a priceless prospect for breeding and sport alike.
Lot 18 presents a rare opportunity: the full brother to Carrera VDL, the KWPN sire whose offspring have conquered World Cups and Nations Cups. From the dam Vantiels Esprit – sister to Tinka’s Boy and dam of multiple international stars – this colt carries the same genetic promise that produced Jur Vrieling’s banner stallion. By Cardento, ranked 7th in the 2024 WBFSH sire standings, he combines elasticity, scope, and a fearless jump. For those seeking a colt destined for Grand Prix arenas, this is a once-in-a-generation offering.
Closing our top trio is Lot 21, a striking Ermitage Kalone colt out of a 1.60m damline. Ermitage Kalone himself lit up last year’s Paris Olympics with Gilles Thomas, and his progeny have quickly become market favorites. This colt’s dam, El-Baronez Vd Keienlegger Z, comes from an established jumping family, including a great-granddam who leapt to 1.60 m and siblings notable up to 1.55 m. With three generations of Grand Prix performance behind him, this young stallion is poised for the top tiers of international show-jumping.
