A year after the Borculo CSI Foal Auction’s première its success is clearly reflected in the upcoming edition’s exclusive foal collection. The suppliers of top foals were convinced after this new concept’s introduction, allowing our selection committee to top even the highest of expectations and form a truly superb collection of jumping foals for the auction taking place on Friday 24th May during Jumping Schröder Tubbergen.

Taking a closer look at the foals selected, we first encounter powerful Bukowskey SR Z, with a pedigree rich in World Championship medals. Dam Anarchie is a sister to Orient Express, who won the team as well as the individual silver medal at the 2014 WEG with Patrice Delaveau. Great-granddam Loripierre (1.60m) is the dam of Dollar de la Pierre (Reynald Angot), winner of the 2002 team gold. Last but not least we find sire and top progenitor Berlin, who won the 2006 team gold medal.

Number two Orlando Grandia is the attractive son of French super talent Candy de Nantuel (s. Luidam).

Dam Zovjet Look Sow (s. Heartbreaker) performed at international 1.45m level, as does her first offspring Duarte. The granddam is the well-known Sovjet Look (1.60m), late Sven Harmsen’s former top horse.

This brings us to the abundantly lined Opertuno (s. Comme Il Faut), bred out of Kianca, a daughter of Numero Uno (s. Libero H). Olympic horse Liberty (s. Libero H, Laura Kraut) and her full brother Ocana (both 1.60m), as well as Baileys (Michel Hendrix), stem from this direct line.

Rare Vannan offspring from Arroyan’s dam line

Ovation W (Vannan x Quidam de Revel) Ovation W (Vannan x Quidam de Revel)

The only filly in this collection is the alluring Enola’s Emerald Z. This daughter of the mighty Emerald van ’t Ruytershof was bred out of the Corland dam Enola. This sister to four international horses was responsible for one of the 2018 Borculo Foal Auction’s top lots.

The dam of the fifth foal Oelala is no stranger either. Coming from a superb performance stem, Jutravola (s. Numero Uno) lightened up the 2018 CSI Foal Auction with her previous foal and is expected to repeat history with her current striking offspring by the phenomenal Halifax van het Kluizebos.

The sixth high potential presented is Ovation W. This son of Vannan, himself a high-potential horse, stems from the reputable broodmare Delia W (s. Quidam de Revel). She is a full sister to Baricello (1.60m) and the dam of the seven-year-old Zangersheide approved Heavenly W (1.40m). Last nut not least Delia W is a sister to world-class horse Arrayan (Carlos Lopez).

Exclusive wild card foal by Chacco-Blue

Shortly after the presentation of the six foals mentioned, the selection committee managed to add a particularly exclusive foal to this collection by using the wild card. We’re talking here about the appealing Charlie’s Talent Z, a striking colt with a mouth-watering pedigree. Sire is Chacco-Blue, the undisputed number 1 stallion in the world, who passed away too soon. Charlie’s Talent Z’s dam is On Verra van ’t Merelsnest. This Kannan daughter out of a world-famous BWP dam line is a sister to nine international horses, including 5* crack VDL Glasgow van ’t Merelsnest (Jur Vrieling). Granddam Wendelina (1.50m) is the full sister to Sapphire (McLain Ward), winner of Olympic team gold in 2004 and 2008.

About Borculo CSI Foal Auction

The top collection outlined above makes the ideal recipe for a successful second edition of the Borculo CSI Foal Auction, a fitting celebration of Borculo Foal Auction’s fortieth anniversary. On Friday evening 24th May the foals will come under the hammer at the attractive venue of the international Jumping Schröder Tubbergen top horse show. Borculo CSI Foal Auction was launched in 2018 under the name of Borculo JST Foal Auction. With an average lot of € 16,000 euros, this new auction concept immediately proved to be a strong one. Six weeks after Borculo CSI Foal Auction exclusive dressage foals take the stage for the Borculo CDI Foal Auction during the Outdoor Gelderland Dressage Gala, on Saturday 6th July. The 2019 auction season is traditionally concluded with the well-known Borculo Elite Foal Auction, which has been on the agenda since 1979. This takes place Wednesday 28th August (jumping foals) and Thursday 29th August in the appealing accommodation of PSC Lichtenvoorde in Vragender, Netherlands.
