After months of selection and preparation, the team of the Dutch Sport Horse Sales is looking forward to the 19th edition. On the 26th of September, a high-class collection of 19 young horses selected by the Hendrix family and Yves Houtackers, will be auctioned off at Peelbergen Equestrian Centre. Among the youngsters are no less than two champions and these are not the only highlights of this sensational collection.
The Dutch Sport Horse Sales has an ever-growing group of outstanding ambassadors worldwide. And with the likes of Gamble and Coronado topping the ranks in Calgary, and Henrik von Eckermann’s Glamour Girl consistently achieving outstanding top-level results, the 2023 collection is highly anticipated and drawing international attention. At the Dutch national championships in Exloo, this auction already made its mark as both the six and seven-year-old champions are part of this collection.
In the highly competitive championships in Exloo, both Menoor (s.Lector van den Bisschop) and Labelle ES (s.Mosito van Hellehof) outperformed all competitors and were crowned national champions. “We always strive to select the best horses of their age group for our auction. This was beautifully demonstrated at the national championships as these two top talents both delivered the best results. The six-year-old mare Menoor is characterized by her immense dedication, technique, athletic scope, and excellent jumping abilities. In the seven-year-old championship, we enjoyed the carefulness, quick reflexes, and attitude of champion Labelle ES. She excels with her potential and jumped the final at 1.45m level with great ease and power”, Paul Hendrix reflects. At the national championship for seven-year-olds, the double clear jumping finalist Lancer JDV (s.El Salvador) also made a very positive impression. With his ability, scope, reflexes, and technique, he was also one of the most remarkable horses in this championship and is part of this year’s Dutch Sport Horse Sales collection as well.
Another seven-year-old top talent is the French-bred Google des Forets. This son of Armitages Boy already has a remarkable career, achieving multiple victories in the international Youngster Tour. “We acquired Google last spring after we noticed his immense qualities and good results. He already has numerous clear rounds to his name and won at international competitions in Oliva and Villers Vicomte. With his unlimited scope and classic way of jumping, he has everything it takes to become a Grand Prix horse.” The same can certainly be said of top talent Mr. Cornike. This six-year-old son of Cornet Obolensky has been carefully trained at Stal Hendrix and garnered attention during the Sunshine Tour last spring. “Wherever Mr. Cornike appears, he steals the show. He is a very complete showjumping horse, and we have high expectations of him. Not only for the auction but also for the rest of his future. He is one of the highlights of the collection”, said Paul Hendrix.
On Monday the 25th of September, the horses will be presented at the Peelbergen Equestrian Centre. The presentation starts at 7:30 PM and can be watched live on ClipMyHorse. The 19th edition of the Dutch Sport Horse Sales will take place live the following day, on Tuesday the 26th of September, starting at 7:30 PM as well.
