The wait is almost over, this Sunday 27th of April marks the very first foal auction collection by Veulenveiling Prinsjesdag and CH Deurne. A selection of ten highly exclusive and promising foals will go under the hammer during the Dutch Showjumping Championships.
Over the past few years, Foal Auction Prinsjesdag has hosted auctions at various events, and now, the Dutch Showjumping Championships are added to that list. “This way, we aim to bring sport closer to breeding,” says chairman Arjan van der Waaij. “Sport is becoming increasingly important, and every breeder ultimately breeds for the sport. Holding an auction during the Championships is a perfect match for that goal.”
Ten exclusive foals
The auction will take place on Sunday, April 27th at 3:30 PM, in between the first and second rounds of the final class of the senior showjumping championship.
The world’s best damlines are represented in this auction, including those of Usha van ’t Roosakker, Emerald van ’t Ruytershof, Cassini Gold, and Narcotique de Muze. The collection consists of four colts and six fillies, sired by Aganix du Seigneur, Mylord Carthago, Quel Homme de Hus, Diablue PS, Drummer 2000 TN Z, Jaguar vd Berghoeve, Mosito van de Hellehof, Emerald van ’t Ruytershof, and Cornet Obolensky. In other words: proven stallions combined with exceptional performance bloodlines.
Usha van ’t Roosakker
The Cornet Obolensky colt Vylori traces directly back to the world-famous mare Usha van ’t Roosakker, just like Venture Key, the Emerald van ’t Ruytershof colt. Djembe, a son of Drummer 2000 TN, is out of a half-sister to Cassini Gold. The dam of the filly Apart van ’t Gebergte (by Aganix du Seigneur), Ilusionata van ’t Meulenhof, jumped at 1.60m level herself and is a half-sister to Emerald van ’t Ruytershof.
Half-sister to Mandato van de Neerheide
The filly Arcotique Z (by Aganix du Seigneur) also carries proven genetics. Her granddam is the 1.60m mare Eliza, who descends from Narcotique de Muze. Mylady-K van Kattenheye Z (by Mylord Carthago) is a half-sister to Mandato van de Neerheide, the 1.60m stallion ridden by Christian Ahlmann. Valentino W (by Mosito van de Hellehof) is a half-sister to Claude Monet, the 1.40m approved stallion ridden by Jérôme Guery.
Foal presentation
Before the live auction in Deurne, there will be a presentation of the foals in the main arena at 12:00 PM. Visitors can also view the foals in the stables. Entry to CH Deurne is free of charge.
