The inaugural Future Sport Horse Sales will take place on 5th September 2016 at Manege Heijligers in Asten, The Netherlands.

Behind the auction are three big names in the world of showjumping: Eric jr. van der Vleuten and his father Eric van der Vleuten, as well as Dutch breeder Kees van den Oetelaar. The Van der Vleuten-family needs little introduction; Eric has been in the top sport for decades and has no less than three World Championships, seven World Cup Finals as well as several international Grand Prix wins behind him. While Eric’s oldest son Maikel is an Olympic, World and European team gold and silver medalist his youngest son Eric jr. has developed a flair for the trade and enjoys to scout and produce young talented jumping horses. Kees van den Oetelaar is one of Netherland’s most well-known breeders, also highly involved in the sport.

The Future Sport Horse Sales is initiated by Eric jr., who aims to present the Van der Vleuten Stable’s core value: Long-term quality.

“In our opinion we have selected a very good group of young horses for the sales,” Eric van der Vleuten says. “All of them have very good mother lines, and are also by quality stallions.”

“The majority of the horses that have been selected for the sales have been here at our stables and produced slowly step-by-step. Quite a few of them I have even competed myself, or our stable jockey has been showing them,” Eric jr. adds. "We would like to present horses of a high quality and that’s why we have included our own best youngsters."

About Cadouch Z

Cadouch Z finds himself on the threshold of a great career. The seven-year-old is ranked at 1.35m level, and made his international debut at CSI Eindhoven in the CSI1* tour.

Cadouch Z comes from the direct mare line of Parmala Douche, just like the up for auction horse Hoover. Parmala Douche was the daughter of Mr. Blue, with whom Maikel van der Vleuten jump-started his career to the highest level at a young age. Her daughter Unique is the grand dam of Cadouch Z. This Unique, descendent of the stallion Palm S (s. Voltaire), jumped with Maikel van der Vleuten at 1.45 m level. Cadouch Z’s dam Nadouch also jumped with Maikel van der Vleuten. She is a daughter of the Grand Prix stallion Nelson Z and performed at international level. In addition to all sports input from the dame line, there is also the influence from Cadouch Z' sire Calvaro Z. This son by Caletto I excelled himself in major championships such as the European Championships in Mannheim and the Sydney Olympics.

About G-Star

(c) Future Sport Horse Sales

Three Grand Prix stallions in a row and a mare line with performance in the (basic) sport. With the genetic foundation of G-Star one can build a beautiful career in the sport.

The dark brown gelding is a son of Spartacus TN. The Hanoverian out of the proven combination Stakkato x Grannus died unfortunately, shortly after he placed third with Henk van de Pol in the Grand Prix of Outdoor Gelderland. From Spartacus we get to the acclaimed Verdi TN N.O.P.. He is the sire of Crazy Girl G, who is currently active in the small tour. Grandmother Violet G performed at Z-level, just like her full sister Steffi G, and they are daughters of the much acclaimed Heartbreaker. The Nimmerdor-son takes sixth place on the list of the best breeding jumping sires in the world and is the sire of stallions like Toulon, Action Breaker and Zambesi, plus the dam sire of Cornet Obolensky.

About Sex Appeal 111 Z

A beautiful bloodline, charisma and talent. Features that apply to Sex Appeal. The bay has the suffix 111 and with that we know that he is from the acclaimed breeding of Harrie Theeuwes.

His recently deceased sire Spartacus TN stands out continuously with his offspring. Here this Hanoverian top jumper is combined with an original Hanoverian dam line that does very well in Belgium. Sex Appeal's dam Elite de la Vie is a daughter of the influential Heartbreaker and is also known as the dam of Imke 111. In 2015 this mare competed in the seven-year-old competition at the World Championships for young horses in Lanaken and continues to shine. This half-sister of Sex Appeal was successful at the CSI2* in Aachen with a 2nd, 3rd and 7th place with Abdel Said. Grandmother Indira Ghandi van de Helle is a daughter of the 20th century stallion Almé Z. She gave birth to three approved sons and the international jumper Passoa M.

Gikke (mare born 2011 by Eldorado van de Zeshoek x Oklund)

About Gikke

(c) Future Sport Horse Sales.

Sire Eldorado van de Zeshoek is clearly making his mark on Dutch breeding. The BWP bred stallion is active in the international sport with Willem Greve and sired three KWPN approved sons who all passed their performance test with a minimum of 83 points.

Just like with El Wikke, who is also up for auction, Gikke's pedigree combines the big-framed Eldorado with the lines of the mare Audi's Jikke. Her grand dam Ulla is a full sister of El Wikke’s dam. This brings us to another part of this exclusive line of Vleut and Genius. Ulla (s. Quick Star) has earned her reputation in breeding. This ‘Prestatie’ mare gave birth to among others the now seven-year-old Eckart, already jumping  at 1.40m level with several high rankings in international young horse categories to his name. Additionally, Ulla is also mother to the 'Elite' mare Akke. This daughter of the early deceased Grand Prix stallion Oklund, also a half brother of Plot Blue, gained the predicate 'Prestatie’ for her own achievements in the sport and forms the foundation of the five-year-old Gikke.

About El Wikke

(c) Future Sport Horse Sales

Without any discussion El Wikke meets the high standards we adhere to in modern showjumping. This year this AES-mare already showed she’s a chip off the old jumping block. With high marks for jumping she became second in the class for four-year-olds in Asten.

Her father and budding top sire Eldorado van de Zeshoek brought power and ability, and dam sire Quick Star ensured a large dash of agility and attitude. The genetic foundation of El Wikke is her famous dam line. El Wikke's dam is a full sister of the internationally successful KWPN stallion Vleut and a three-quarter sister to the late winner of the KWPN jumper stallion championship Genius (s. Baloubet du Rouet) who tragically died way too early. Through grandmother Nicce (s.Cantus) we find the famous mare Audi's Jikke. With Eric van der Vleuten in the saddle the Concorde-daughter was a very worthy representative of Dutch showjumping at the beginning of this century.
