On September 29 and 30, the Haras d’Ick will host its third online auction. In just 20 years, the Haras d’Ick has become a true benchmark in sport horse breeding. The number of horses carrying the DK suffix keeps increasing at the highest level. This year again, Girl Power DK shone in Paris under the iconic glass roof of the Grand Palais at the Saut Hermès, just like Fein Lotta DK. Extra Belle d’Ick claimed victory in the Grand National of Notre-Dame-d’Estrées, Vendome d’Ick finished second in the 4* Grand Prix of Lido di Camaiore and Golden Boy DK recently won the Global Champions League in Riesenbeck with Simon Delestre. Meanwhile, the great promise Bella Electra DK is set to face the world’s best of her generation at the World Championships in Lanaken in just a few days.
For this 2025 edition, Richard and Audrey Dick are offering products from the eight emblematic damlines of the stud. For the very first time, alongside foals and embryos of top-level genetics, they will also present a selection of their best three-year-olds. Always consistent in their breeding philosophy, they wanted to offer horses raised naturally, who only left their fields for photo and video shoots, as they strongly believe that life outdoors and in groups remains absolutely vital for the growth and development of their future athletes.
The queen of the stud, Electra van’t Roosakker (Carthago x Darco), is of course well represented. Since her arrival in Normandy, her offspring have kept impressing. Her son Celectric D, top price of the last FENCES auction in Deauville, was sold for €600,000. He is the full brother of Kueen Electra DK, while Bella Electra DK will compete this week at the World Championships for 6-year-olds in Lanaken with Pedro Muylaert. Descendants from these two mares, as well as from two other highly promising uterine sisters, will be offered in this auction.
This year, Extra Belle d’Ick (Unik d’Ick x Rubens du Ri d’Asse), the outstanding daughter of the legendary Quasibelle du Seigneur who spent many years at Haras d’Ick, made a name for herself with numerous impressive performances, culminating in victory in a 150 Grand Prix with Alexis Bonnard. She will also be represented with three of her descendants.
Among the damlines that breeders dream about, two hold a very special place. The first is Teekitiezzie de Muze, a true breeding legend. Richard Dick believed in her very early on, recognizing her extraordinary potential as a broodmare. Today she continues to shine at the stud, while her daughter Hasta La Vista DK is confirming expectations under the saddle of Pedro Muylaert, and several of her sisters have been retained for breeding to carry on her legacy.
The second is the result of Richard Dick’s constant pursuit of exceptional damlines: Vialotta d’Ick, daughter of the phenomenal Pialotta, who made history with Rolf-Göran Bengtsson, Steve Guerdat, and Edwina Alexander, even competing in the World Equestrian Games final four in Aachen after double team silver at the European Championships in 2001 and 2005. Today, her production is exploding on the international scene. At only 16, she already has eleven offspring on the international circuit, including an approved stallion. Four of her products are competing in Grand Prix, such as Fein Lotta DK with Nicolas Delmotte, while her daughters Forever DK and Lotta Love DK are among the great hopes of the stud.
Among the finest flagbearers of the stud are the two sisters Cool Girl d’Ick and Girl Power DK, both descendants of Urline de Muze, who is not only a uterine sister to cracks like Mylord Carthago, Bamako de Muze, Norton d’Eole, and many more, but also the dam of the phenomenal A Big Boy. Their offspring will also feature in this auction, with embryos by United Touch S and Chacco Blue, as well as a product by Check In.
While Richard Dick has always a sharp eye for finding outstanding mares for the stud, he also made the right decision in acquiring Vent du Sud Kerglenn, who herself competed at the highest level and is the dam of the international winner Déesse de Kerglenn, who just won a 4* Grand Prix in Opglabbeek this year with Harrie Smolders, as well as the uterine sister of the crack Dexter de Kerglenn, winner of the Nations Cup in Brussels this year!
For this auction, as usual, Richard and Audrey Dick present a true breeder’s work, with stallions selected not only for their sport records and genetic strength, but also for their designed bloodlines, taking a particular care to produce extraordinary performers both on the sire’s and the dam’s side!
