Hat’s off to Chapeau! She’s amazing! She’s awesome! This beautiful thoroughbred-type mare is all these things and more.

Chapeau Chapeau, mare born 2014 by Balou du Rouet x Cornet Obolensky x Ligorett

Chapeau is an athletic horse with a powerful take-off, exceptional elasticity, excellent technique and a stunning jump. This elegant Westphalian-bred mare has perfect cadence in all her paces and she’s a pleasure to ride. Her well-balanced canter and even stride make her incredibly easy to navigate around any course of jumps. At the video shoot everyone was amazed to see her effortlessly clearing a maximum height course of jumps. This mare has ability and attitude, as well as the perfect build for a sport horse.

She was bred to jump at the highest level of show jumping sport: Balou du Rouet x Cornet Obolensky x Ligorett. Balou du Rouet is a world-class stallion that was among the top fifteen sires in the WBFSH sport horse breeding ranking for many years. Balou du Rouet achieved this status mainly thanks to his most famous son, Olympic medal winner and three times World Cup winner Baloubet du Rouet. Chapeau’s dam sire Cornet Obolensky dominated the sport and breeding world for over a decade. He and Marco Kutscher won numerous championship medals and first prizes in Grand Prix classes, and he earned more prize money than any other German horse. This stallion’s offspring have already collectively won more than 11 million euros - need we say more? Liogrett rounds off the pedigree with some of the finest Holstein genes from Lord and Liguster.

Chapeau has been brought on professionally and competed at intermediate level abroad in preparation for moving up the grades. She is now ready to compete in big international classes.

Chapeau is a horse to watch out for in the future.
