We’re back! After missing a year in 2020 as a result of COVID-19 restrictions, Holger Hetzel‘s sixteenth international Sport Horse Sales 2021 is all set to be a very special, must-attend auction event for the equestrian world. The auction is taking place on 24 November, when Holger and his team will be presenting another superlative collection of 21 highly talented young jumping horses. The videos have now gone online. “Two years have given us plenty of time to source some fantastic youngsters, and to bring them on without any rush. Now they’re ready to excel," said Holger Hetzel. The internationally successful show jumper and trainer has always had his own philosophy - and current market developments are proving him right. “It’s becoming increasingly important to find and train talented horses at a young age. Especially in today’s world when genuinely top quality adult horses are scarce and selling for exorbitant prices.”

Beauville Z is a great example of Holger's theory. He and his partner, Dutch rider Maikel van der Vleuten, won a bronze medal this year at the Tokyo Olympics. After being sold at the 2016 Sport Horse Sales, Beauville Z went through the perfect training regimen to let him shine in Japan.

This year’s auction collection includes 21 five to eight year old horses, some with already impressive competition track records and all with the very best pedigrees the European jumping horse breeding scene has to offer. Potential bidders are very welcome to come along to the collection presentation event followed by a brunch at 10 am on 21 November. There will be the chance to arrange try outs on the day, or at another time by prior arrangement.

On 24 November, the day of the auction, there will be a final presentation at 5 pm before the auction commences at 9 pm. In addition to bidding at the event buyers can log on to the auction portal and bid online. Guests at the presentation on 21 November and at the main event on 24 November have to present proof of double vaccination, a negative test certificate or proof of recovery from a COVID-19 infection.
