The Elmshorn Holsteiner Verband Marketing and Auction GmbH executives have come up with several novelties. But one thing is the same as ever: The quality of the selected foals.

On 8 September, it’s time again for Dr. Günther Friemel to wield the auction hammer at the Elmshorn Fritz-Thiedemann-hall for 73 lots able to stand up to critical inspection by the selection committee comprising Sigrun Günther, Ove Asmussen and Hans-Joachim Ahsbahs. In addition to offspring by high-profile international showjumping stallions, a number of talented foals by young Holsteiner sires have been assembled. No matter if you are looking for a foal from the first crop of 2016 champion stallion and reigning state champion under saddle, Unlimited (by Uriko-Casall), or by an established sire – we can provide the right foal for any customer.

Like for example an attractive colt by Cornet Obolensky out of the direct dam line of licensed stallion Lorentin. Or a son of I’m Special de Muze (by Emerald van’t Ruytershof), not only from one of the very best Holstein mare families (776), but also from the direct dam line of Catwalk van de Helle (by Contender). Moreover, the auction selection comprises foals by top stallions like for example Livello, Kannan, Colman, Untouchable WPN or else Van Gogh.

But what would a Holsteiner auction be like without Casall offspring? Virtually unthinkable! And for sure, there are numerous Casall foals to be had at auction. Among them for example two colts from the dam line of Olympic horse Carlsson vom Dach (Will Simpson). Or a colt by Casall out of a Diamant de Semilly dam, whose 3rd dam’s produce includes Calato by Capitol. Speaking of dam lines: the importance of a top-quality dam line is no longer a best kept secret. And that is why we in Holstein make a point of selecting auction foals from tried and tested performance mare families. The Million Dollar colt out of a Cambridge-Cor de la Bryere dam is a very good example, with the produce of his high-class second dam including the stallions Catoki and Casco Z. The same goes for a Quibery son attracting attention for his markings: not only has his dam (by Cassini I) been mare performance tested with excellent marks (9.25) but she was successfully shown to S level, as well. Another foal to be mentioned is by Brantzau, from a dam line which has not only produced licensed stallions and champion mares but also the international showjumper Quaprice Bois Margot. And, last but not least, there is another Million Dollar foal up for auction, whose 3rd dam’s produce includes Christian Ahlmann‘s Cöster. This is just to give you a taste, even though almost all foals in the auction could be described in a similar vein.

On 8 September, it is time for 73 foals rigorously selected for quality and soundness to find a new owner. The setting and conditions are very promising: All foals are presented and auctioned at one location, the stallion stable of the Holsteiner Verband stallion keeping GmbH will be opened to all interested in a peep behind the scenes and regional partners will provide culinary delights.
