A great number of horses with lasting sporting success stories have left their hoof prints on this turf, among them an array of great Holsteiner names such as Livius, Lausbub, Silbersee, Collin, Carassina, Zera, Calle Cool, Cordillo, or Dacara E – all of which have won the German Jumping Derby in Hamburg. On Thursday, 29 May 2025, the stories of thirteen Holsteiner foals to be auctioned on this venerable turf are about to begin.
Lot 1 in this collection is a gem from Hartwig Schoof‘s renowned breed operation: The second dam to Twilight by Casall-Calvaro is none other than the full sister to Contendro I and II, from the famous mare family 104A. This damline has also produced the success horses Chaka Chaka by Casall (Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann/GER), Caretano (Jos Lansink/BEL), N-Caretana BB by Caretino and many more.
Unique is not only his name, but also the lineage of this colt, lot 2: Unique is not only by Olympic horse, Uricas v/d Kattevennen, but his dam, Goriana, and his third dam, Coriana, are from the famous van Klapscheut family – this stallion prospect boasts enough highly decorated relatives to fill books.
And then there is lot 12 to make the hearts of fans of internationally successful bloodlines beat faster: Cuba by Casall-Chaman, from mare family 8900, with the third and fourth dams of this colt particularly interesting. Orchidee, a full sister to licensed championship contender, Cartani by Carthago (Charlotte von Rönne/DEN) is a daughter to unforgotten world champion, Taggi by Landgraf I (Sören von Rönne/GER).
In addition, the selection includes highly interesting offspring by Zuccero, United Way, Diamant de Semilly, Pegase van’t Ruytershof, Eldorado v/d Zeshoek, Diarado, Casallco, Clarimo Million Dollar and Ermitage Kalone.
