Designed to allow buyers to buy direct from breeders without any intermediaries, and to promote the various breeding farms and stud-books, The Best Horses, a subsidiary of Balsan Enchères, collaborates with the industry’s best-performing breeding professionals to offer, with each single sale, a selection of promising equines for the international circuit. After a first successful experience with the Elevage de Riverland, The Best Horses has decided to partner with the Selle Français Stud-Book. This decision stems from a genuine desire to develop a series of marketing support incentives for breeders participating in the breed championships.
A thorough selection was made at the regional level with the support of regional associations and with the assistance of a network of judges from all over the country. This helped identify and qualify the best representatives of the breed for the 4 championships of the stud-book:
- Physical and live auction of the Championship of Selle Français Foals at the Normandy Horse Show in Saint-Lô, 5th September 2020.
- Live auction of the fillies Championship for the Selle Français 2- and 3-year-olds during the Great Week of Fontainebleau, 6th October 2020.
- On-site and live auction of the 3 day eventing hopeful 3-year-olds at the Mondial du Lion, 17th October 2020.
- Live auction of the 3-year-olds Championship: «Jumping» on 3rd November 2020.
These events are a promotional and marketing shows for breeders. The Stud-Book’s professional «selectors» remain the judges who are trained to meet the expectations of the screening body according to its breeding program criteria.

In exactly 2 days, you will be able to discover the best foals of the Selle Français Stud-Book, and they will be auctioned this upcoming Saturday, September 5th from 7:30 p.m. at the Horse Pole in Saint Lô. The 51 selected lots all come from incredible breeding lines, such as : Diamond de Semilly, Dollar de la Pierre, Quidam de Revel, Quick Star or Baloubet du Rouet... and they will be up for grabs for any buyer wishing to find his future Grand Prix partner or just for personal enjoyment.
The auction of the Selle Français Foals Championship will be physically accessible at the Pôle Hippique of Saint-Lô but also live (broadcasted over the internet so that Internet users can bid in real-time) via www.the-best-horses.com for those who are not able to attend the event.
