The fourth edition of the HX Auctions is open. From their own breeding and rearing, the Hendrix family has selected nine special three-year-old mares for this online auction. Bidding on these future talents is possible until Monday the 1st of August, when the first lots close at 7:30PM. Paul Hendrix enlightens three of his favorites.

Many successful international showjumpers have been bred and-or trained by Stal Hendrix over the past decades. The Hendrix family launched the HX Auctions platform in 2020 to give customers the chance to invest in promising three-year-old future talents out of their own breeding program. While the first horses from these auctions are developing well, they have presented their fourth collection.

A special talent is the Kempinski mare Odesza HX. “This mare combines an extraordinary amount of scope with quick reflexes and we have bred her out of a dam who herself competes in international showjumping classes at the age of seven”, explains Paul Hendrix. Odesza HX’s granddam Urraca has also foaled the international 1.45m showjumper Ceks 3 (s.Carrico) ridden by Karin Ernsting and the eight-year-old Joey (s.Caplan), who is successful in the Youngster Tour. Sire Kempinski is a valuable Darco son who continues his career in the States.

And what to think of the Holstein bred mare Naomi (s.Nekton), another personal favorite of Paul Hendrix. “This eye-catcher jumps with a lot of scope and shows her great potential time and time again. She has an excellent canter, exceptional jumping technique and good conformation. We have high hopes for the future of this Nekton mare.” Her sire has already produced a series of Grand Prix showjumpers, including the highest level performing Nektarina B, Alina 440 and New Curtis. On the dam’s side, the valuable breeding stallions Larimar and Acasino B bring in their genes.

The collection also includes a very talented mare sired by Maikel van der Vleuten’s former top mount Verdi. The very promising Only Karla J is something special in every way. “This mare seems to have all that it takes to become a top horse. She represents the solid Karla family on the dam’s side and we are very pleased to offer horses of this caliber in our auction.” Granddam Warla already foaled the internationally 1.40m level jumping horse Candetto Z (s.Canturo) and is a half-sister of Ekarla v/d Horst (s.Canturano), who performed at the same level. This prominent Karla damline is reknown for producing outstanding horses such as the Grand Prix sport and breeding stallion Mr.Blue.

The collection can be found on www.hxauctions.nl and the bidding opens on Friday the 29th of August. On Monday the 1st of August, the lots close from 7.30 pm. “Information, photos and videos of the horses can be found on the website.
