Stal Tops, VDL Stud and Frederik De Backer have launched Trigon Auctions, a bridge between breeders and buyers. With bidding on the first collection well underway, breeders and buyers are showing a lot of interest in the revolutionary Breeders and Buyers Premium.

Every year the team invests 20.000€ in the formula that will reward the breeders and the buyers of Trigon Auction foals. Once the foals have grown up and have made it into the international sport their results lead to a ranking. Based on the ranking, the 20.000€ bonus is divided over the horses and the bonus is equally spilt 50/50 between the breeders and the buyer of the foal. 

By taking the initiative Trigon Auctions rewards both breeders and buyers. The breeder is rewarded for the results of his horse and the buyer receives extra money even if they have sold their investment on.

A unique incentive to stimulate the market!

Bidders who have already placed their bids on the collection may have noticed another novelty, the reserve price. Sellers have entered a minimum price they would like to receive for their foal. After placing his bid, the highest bidder sees if his bid has reached the minimum price, set by the breeder. If the minimum price is not reached, the foal can not yet be sold. If the bid has reached the minimum price, the foal will be sold and bidders are bidding against each other. Once the auction closes there is full transparency about which foal is sold and which foal isn’t.

When the foal is 5 months old it needs to pass a 3rd vet-check, after being inspected by a veterinarian at the moment of selection and once more at the start of the bidding. Correctness, general condition and state of the feet and hooves are paramount for the auction team and their buyers. Once the foal passes the vet-check the buyers can pick it up.

Trigon Auctions can also provide insurance, transport and even housing or boarding throughout the winter.

This Group 1 Collection is made up of 13 foals including a colt by Tobago Z out of the full sister of Bacardi VDL, a filly by Chaqui Z out of the sister of Etoulon VDL, a colt by Verdi out of the international performing Di Angela Z who is a granddaughter of Pialotta. Also foals by leading sire Diamant de Semilly, Douglas, the Olympic Hardrock Z, upcoming El Barone 111 Z, recently retired Emerald and World Champion producer Stakkato Gold complete the interesting collection.
