After six and a half successful years at Stephan Conter’s Stephex Stables in Belgium, Lorenzo de Luca is starting up on his own. “It’s been a great experience to work at Stephex Stables, and I want to thank Stephan Conter for all the opportunities I have been given and for everything he has done for my career,” Lorenzo says to World of Showjumping. “However, I’m ready to start a new chapter. I have always wanted to run my own business, and it feels like it’s time for me to pursue that dream.”
“I have had some fantastic results during my time at Stephex,” Lorenzo continues. “Sitting second on the Longines Ranking in 2017, as well as having Halifax van het Kluizebos top the WBFSH World Ranking for several months that same year, were of course two special achievements during my time here. Other highlights include winning the CSIO5* Rolex Grand Prix of Rome with Halifax in 2018, as well as the CSIO5* Longines FEI Nations Cup with Ensor de Litrange at the same venue in 2017. The victories in the CSI5* LGCT Grand Prix of Valkenswaard and Shanghai in 2017, as well as in the CSIO5* Longines Grand Prix and Longines FEI Nations Cup in Dublin in 2016, also with Ensor, are among other memorable wins during my time here.”
“Now, I look forward to starting up on my own. I will focus on training and also definitely do my best to have a group of owners around me with horses for the sport,” Lorenzo says. “I don’t exclude that Stephan and I will do something together in the future as well, time will tell."
“I wish Lorenzo all the best in his new, future career, and in the sport,” Stephan Conter says to World of Showjumping. “I would like to thank him for all the great results he had during his time here at Stephex, and for all the good moments we shared together.”
