Jumping Amsterdam returns to the World Cup map. From the 2018/2019 Longines FEI World Cup Western European League season, Jumping Amsterdam will host one of the legs on the circuit.
The last time a World Cup jumping leg took place in The Netherlands was back in 2013, at Indoor Brabant in Den Bosch – that from 2014 decided to go with their main sponsor Rolex and now hosts one of the Majors on their Grand Slam circuit.
Now, the Dutch add another big event to their jumping calendar. "We are very pleased that we will be able to return with a World Cup qualification in The Netherlands. The Netherlands deserves such a qualifying competition on the World Cup circuit as a leading jumping nation," says Maarten van der Heijden, director of top sport at the KNHS.
Jumping Amsterdam has a long history with the World Cup, both in jumping and dressage. From 1978 to 2008, RAI Amsterdam was the venue for one of the qualifying legs.
