After over a year of absence from international competition, Andre Thieme’s championship mount and 2024 Aachen Grand Prix winner DSP Chakaria (Chap 47 x Askari 173, bred by Martin Juergens) has made a comeback. The now 15-year-old mare is competing in Riesenbeck, Germany, this weekend.
“I have had her twice at start in Riesenbeck, only in small 1.20m classes,” Andre Thieme explains to World of Showjumping. “This is our second show, and our plan is to take very small steps so that we get a solid base again. We are all very happy and she feels fresh, sound and happy. She has jumped these small classes with such power and ease, it is clear that she enjoys what she is doing.”
Thieme and Chakaria – the 2021 European Champions – were part of the winning German team at the 2024 Longines League of Nations Final in Barcelona, which was their last international outing prior to this weekend’s show in Riesenbeck.
