Andreas Kreuzer has joined forces with Paul Schockemöhle. "Paul, the Schockemöhle-team, and I, have been working very closely together for one and a half year, and have noticed that we have very similar ideas about the future and that we can shape this future even better together than we can individually," Kreuzer said in a press release.
One of Kreuzer's tasks will be Schockemöhle's young horses, with focus on training, marketing and management. "With the Lewitz breeding, which is close to Paul's heart, we have a very well-founded, broad-based foundation," the 32-year-old explains. “I can now draw on even greater potential and even more possibilities for everything I have imagined and planned. It's about top show jumping with everything that goes with it – from breeding, training and management to full service for customers."
Kreuzer has been self-employed for eight years and has since 2018 been running a training centre in Damme, Germany, which he will continue to operate. "Not much will change in my daily business in Damme. All horse owners, my students, my team – we will continue to work together, just under a different flag and on an even broader basis,” Kreuzer says. In addition, the former Nations Cup rider will be in charge of training some of the Schockemöhle riders and will work closely with the other Schockemöhle trainers. "Mühlen and Damme are only 15 minutes away by car - that fits perfectly," Kreuzer says.
Paul Schockemöhle and Andreas Kreuzer have known each other for a long time. From 2008 to 2012, Kreuzer was a rider in Paul Schockemöhle's stable and, last but not least, made the jump to the international top with the Schockemöhle stallion Chacco-Blue. "What I appreciate most about Andreas is that he doesn't look at the sport in isolation," Paul Schockemöhle emphasizes. “He has always been interested in breeding and he knows all about the management involved. It's the same holistic philosophy that we follow. Andreas fits perfectly into our team – in terms of know-how and also from a human perspective."
Kreuzer explains that it was difficult for him to give up his own company and his own brand, but says: "...the Schockemöhle-team and I have long-term goals. Together we can achieve an incredible amount with our combined strengths. This vision was the main reason for me to join this team. I see great opportunities here for all of us."
