The USA’s Mimi Gochman has announced the retirement of her now 16-year-old mare Celina BH (Canstakko x Carthago).

With Celina, Gochman claimed individual gold and team silver at the 2021 Gotham North FEI North American Youth Jumping Championships in 2021. The two also won the CSI5* 1.55m Kubota Cup at Spruce Meadows in 2023 and were on the winning American team in the CSIO3* Nations Cup of Traverse City in 2025 – to mention only some of their many successes together. The pair did their final international outing together in October last year.

“Celina, there aren’t enough words to describe how grateful I am to have been your partner all these years,” Gochman shared on social media. “The last 9 years have been absolutely incredible, and you’ve changed my life in so many ways. Thank you for being my heart horse day in and day out. I enjoyed our wins and learning moments equally and I always knew you had my back. You jumpstarted my career from junior jumpers all the way to my first senior nations cups and I will never be able to put into words how much you have given me and how much you mean to me. I will miss you more than anything, but I am so happy we can give you the retirement you deserve. Thank you to every person who loved Celina and cared for her as much as I do, being part of her world is something I will cherish forever. Your fierce competitiveness and personality will always be remembered queen CC, happy retirement.”

At World of Showjumping, we wish Celina a very happy retirement!
