Coolmore Showjumping has acquired Bertram Allen’s 9-year-old super talent Empoli de Champloue (Arko x Diamant de Semilly). The gelding now competes under the name Tipperary, and this week he jumped his first class with his new rider Cian O’Connor in the saddle at the Andalucía Sunshine Tour in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain – going clear in the CSI4* 1.50m Grand Prix qualifier.

With Allen, Empoli de Champloue impressed during his season as an 8-year-old – winning the CSI5*-W 1.60m Grand Prix in Riyadh in December last year, after placing seventh in the CSI4*-W 1.55m Grand Prix a week prior. The pair also won a CSI4* 1.45m in Stockholm, finished second in a CSI5* 1.55m during the LGCT in Riyadh as well as second in a CSI5* 1.55m during the LGCT in Valkenswaard. Back in July, Allen and Empoli de Champloue also won a CSI2* Grand Prix in Knokke.

To World of Showjumping, Allen commented on the sale: “I wish the new owners the best of luck with Empoli de Champloue. He really is an unbelievable horse. Since we’ve had him from a 5-year-old, he’s been fantastic and then last year as an 8-year-old he had some brilliant results.”
