KWPN has announced Big Star as their Stallion of the Year 2017. 

Big Star will be honoured at the KWPN Stallion Show in Den Bosch, that runs from January 31-February 3rd. The 15-year-old stallion by Quick Star x Nimmerdor was retired last year after a fantastic career: With Nick Skelton he won the individual gold medal at the Rio Olympic Games in 2016, the team gold medal at the London Olympic Games in 2012 as well as the prestigious Grand Prix of Aachen in 2013, the Grand Prix of Rome in 2013, the Grand Prix of Hamburg in 2012 and the Grand Prix of Antwerp in 2012.
