For the last two years, Daniel Deusser has not been available for the German showjumping team. A disagreement over the terms in the contract the team riders have to sign with the German Equestrian Federation has been the main reason for Deusser’s absence.
This week however, German Chef d’Equipe Otto Becker flagged that changes have been made to the contract opening for the possibility that Deusser – who currently is ranked third on the world ranking – will be back on the team during 2019.
To World of Showjumping, Deusser comments: “I still haven’t seen the contract or the changes that have been made. However, if the changes are in line with my previous discussions with the federation I would be happy to be back on the team to take part in some Nations Cups during the year.”
