Mexico's Enrique Gonzalez has announced the retirement of his 15-year-old success mare Chacna (Chacco-Blue x Narew XX).
With Gonzalez in the saddle, Chacna competed at the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon (USA), at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima (PER) – where the Mexican team won a silver medal, as well as at the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games. Together, Chacna and Gonzalez won big classes in Coapexpan, Del Mar, Leon, Mannheim, Monterrey, Samorin, Wellington, and the two were also part of the winning Mexican team in the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup in Dublin (IRL) in 2018.
On his official Instagram account, Gonzales wrote: "I would like to pay tribute to this incredible mare, partner and friend CHACNA. She made me learn, appreciate, win, loose and be greatful. We were able to WIN all over the world from 2* to 5* classes, Nations Cups, a Panamerican Games Medal, and the honor to represent team Mexico in the greatest stages of the world. I will make sure she has the best retirement that she deserves, hopefully for many more years to come. Thanks to all the people involved in her amazing career: Luis Guarneros who took care of her all these years, Laura Berube, who road her and brought her back every time, my wife Monica who supported me in every step of the way and most important Alli Lewaetz, without her I would have never had the chance to keep Chacna.
HAPPY RETIREMENT MY GIRL."
At World of Showjumping, we wish Chacna a very happy retirement!
