After successfully coaching the Spanish showjumpers since 2014, Eric van der Vleuten and the Spanish Equestrian Federation have announced that their co-operation comes to an end by mutual agreement.

Van der Vleuten wants to focus on his sporting career, as he has made a return to top level competition. Wanting to avoid possible conflicts of interest with the Spanish team, and given the difficulty of combining coaching and riding Van der Vleuten has asked to be exempted from his commitments.

"We wish Eric the best of luck, while thanking him for the time, work and dedication he has put in throughout his time with the national team," states the Spanish Equestrian Federation on their website.
