For a second consecutive month, Ben Maher's 10-year-old KWPN gelding Explosion W (Chacco Blue x Baloubet du Rouet) – bred by Willy Wijnen – has jumped himself to the top of the WBFSH World Ranking List. After topping the July-rankings, Explosion W also finished as the world's highest ranked horse in August with the rankings being released at the middle of September.

The top four remain unchanged: The 13-year-old Westphalian mare Toveks Mary Lou (Montendro x Portland L) – bred by Hubert Nienhaus and ridden by Henrik von Eckermann – sits second and Daniel Deusser's ride Scuderia 1918 Tobago Z (Tangelo vd Zuuthoeve x Mr Blue) – a 12-year-old Oldenburg gelding bred by Jonas Bellemans – is still third. Maikel van der Vleuten's ride Dana Blue (Mr. Blue x Hemmingway) – a 11-year-old KWPN mare that is bred by J.A.M. Bocken – stays as rank four. New as rank five is Peder Fredricson's top horse H&M All In (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Andiamo Z), a 13-year-old gelding bred by Bas Huybregts.

On the studbook ranking, KWPN still leads the way on 8721 points with Explosion W, Dana Blue and GC Chopin's Bushi (Contendro II x Nairobi) as their three best representatives. Rank two is the Westphalian Studbook that has 7486 points – with Toveks Mary Lou, Clooney 51 (Cornet Obolensky x Ferragamo) and Lucifer V (Lord Pezi x Grandeur) being their best three ambassadors. Zangersheide is new as rank three this month, with 7238 points and their best representatives being Scuderia 1918 Tobago Z, Don VHP Z N.O.P. (Diamant de Semilly x Voltaire) and Ladriano Z (Lawito x Baloubet du Rouet).
