The latest FEI Jumping U25 Ranking sees Ireland’s Bertram Allen (2090 points) on top for a third consecutive month. Allen is followed by Belgium’s Jos Verlooy (2045 points) as rank two and Ireland’s Daniel Coyle (1848 points) as rank three.
Launched in January this year, the ranking aims to help riders under the age of 25 earn points which again will make it easier for them to get into CSI shows. “It gives the U25 riders a chance to get themselves a position [on the ranking ], that is the idea of it,” John Roche – FEI Jumping Director – says to World of Showjumping. “We also have the same system for young riders, who can earn ranking points in Grand Prix classes at young rider CSI and CSIO events. The idea is that once they go out of the young rider and U25 divisions they are in a position to easier get into shows through the FEI CSI invitation system with those points.”
