In a letter to the International Jumping Riders Club, the FEI defends their proposed Olympic format changes that will be voted on at tomorrow’s FEI General Assembly in Tokyo.

Last week, the IJRC addressed the FEI with alternative solutions to the proposed changes. In their letter, the IJRC states that it in principle supports the FEI's aim of increasing the number of nations competing at the Olympics – but believes there are better ways of achieving this than the one proposed.

In their response to the IJRC, the FEI maintains their point of view and argues in favor of their proposed changes – writing: “Let’s not forget that we work here for the future and that success will inevitably bring opportunities, prosperity and a bright future for all. To achieve this, we need to create a new avenue for all of our athletes and Federations to qualify for the Olympic Games and creating this avenue will mean they are provided with support by their National Olympic Committees and Government.”
