Cathleen Driscoll’s family and friends have started a fundraiser to help cover costs connected to the extensive rehabilitation therapy the 32-year-old American rider will have to undergo after a fall in June, which left her with significant traumatic brain injury.
Driscoll has represented the U.S. in Nations Cups on numerous occasions, most recently in Drammen (NOR) and Martofte (DEN) back in June and May. Driscoll has several FEI Grand Prix wins on her record, and was listed 145th on the world ranking at the time of her accident.
Driscoll’s family has shared her story on social media, writing: “On June 22, 2025, Cathleen Driscoll was competing in a Grand Prix in Deauville, France when she had a fall on course resulting in a significant traumatic brain injury. She was airlifted to a local trauma hospital in Caen and, fortunately, she did not require surgery. After remaining in the hospital there for 10 days, she was stabilized enough to be airlifted to the neurosurgical unit at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, where she was evaluated before being transferred to the Shepherd Center for longer-term rehab. We are very thankful that Cat is going to be part of the exceptional program at Shepherd with their intensive and comprehensive rehabilitation therapy.”
Anyone who wishes to contribute to Cathleen’s medical costs can do so through this link.
At World of Showjumping, we wish Cathleen all the best in her road to recovery!
